Our Commitment

detectiveAs a dietitian in private practice I spend a lot of time with my clients helping them to decipher ingredients on food products. I specialize in gastrointestinal disorders such as Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, IBS, celiac and food allergies/intolerances so it is very important for my clients to understand ingredients. Unfortunately, the food industry does not make this easy, in fact, there are so many ways that they can hide ingredients from you. There are also so many ways they can make a food product appear healthy when it is actually far from that. In essence, I have to teach my clients to be food detectives. It is very frustrating to me that this has to be part of my consultations and my clients feel very deceived by the food industry as a whole when they find out this information.

When I set out to create GoBe Organics, I had several ideals that I absolutely would not compromise on. Those ideals are ingrained in me personally and now professionally, as a food crafter. They are as follows;

  1. I will not compromise on the quality of my ingredients.
    • My ingredients must be certified organic.
    • No artificial anything; sweeteners, colors, flavors or preservatives.
    • I source everything I can locally or close as possible.
    • My ingredients must be free of animal testing.
  2. I will be completely transparent in:
    • The source of my ingredients.
    • Sustainability.
    • Production.

Clean, organic ingredients do not come cheap. Food that is made from chemicals and poor quality ingredients are cheap. You will pay less money for those foods but you will not be able to nourish your body with them.

Over the past decade I have seen good quality, organic foods becoming more accessible and more affordable. We are not totally there yet but it is my hope that as more consumers demand quality ingredients and transparency that the food industry will have no choice but to change, allowing everyone access to food that nourishes us from the inside out.
